Our Story

​

We did what so many do we bought a mini pig.

After a few weeks,with Girty, we

realized that she was not a mini pig, 

but rather a full size potbelly.

​

We fell in love with our sweet girl

the bigger she got the more we loved.  As the time went on we knew she was the one who was in control of the ranch.   Girty knew where all the 

special food places were and how to test all our doors to assure they were locked, if not she was in the house running for

the pantry...

​

On December 5th, 2016

Girty was taken from us, a sad day at the ranch

and we weren't sure

how to move on without her in our lives..

​

That's when Girty's Place became a reality, 

in honor of our girl  Girty.

Helping those who need love and care, and a

safe place to call home, even if it's for a short time.

​

I know she is looking down and smiling of what has become of her sancuary.

​

If your not able to adopt a pig but want to help ,

we are always in need of extra bedding, cages,

and donations to assure all pigs are neutered and up to date on vaccinations and are healthy. We also need to make more space  for the many more pigs that are homeless and injured.

​

We currently have limited space for helping 

the many tags we get daily of those in need .

But with some help we can grow Girtys Place

into a amazing sanctuary for all those in need.
